We could blame media our entire lives for having portrayed women in such a negative way, but the first guilty people are women themselves. Media has their standard of beauty and sale. We do not have to follow them, but we can change them. However, a change requires much time than quick success, so many women who want to get their face out of there quickly follow the standards of media. Those standards which state that “sex is good for sale”, those standards which state that “naked is the new classic.” Thus, many women just comply with these standards. They forgot that they have more capacities within them to impact than just being objects of pleasure. They forgot that they are actually representing many varieties of women. Every time a woman is letting herself being portrayed in such a negative way, she should know that she had not only let herself being portrayed that way but a particular variety of women who were waiting for someone who could portray them in a positive way. Women are mothers, women are teenagers, women are students, women are entrepreneurs and so much more.
Women need more than this kind women who would do anything to get their faces seen. Women need women who can portrait them as they truly are, not “a sex or pleasure object”, but real women with great capacities to make positive changes in their society. Women are not only “sex or pleasure object”, but women are every type of women we meet every day. Mothers need to be represented, students need to be represented, teenagers need to be represented, but who do they actually have to represent them? Before getting your face on the media in any way, know that you are representing a particular variety of women. You are that mother that mothers are looking at to identify themselves, you are that teenager that teenagers are looking at to identify themselves, you are that student that students are looking at to identify themselves, you are that entrepreneur that women entrepreneur are looking at to identify themselves. You are that woman that women are looking at to identify themselves. I am not stating that we only have women who are portraying women in a negative way, but we need more women giving a real image of women. Each of us could portray women in a special way because we are so uniquely gifted.
